I have been Member of Parliament for South Derbyshire since the General Election of May 1, 1997.
In that time I have been contacted by more than 15,000 households (around one in four of those in the area)
On many occasions my assistance has resulted in progress and I am always glad to hear constituents' views on the issues of the day.

Councillor Sean Bambrick Newhall and Stanton Ward
Profile:
I was elected on to the council in May 2005 and sit on its Services for Children Improvement and Scrutiny Committee and represent it on the Derbyshire Combined Fire Authority.
I’m also a South Derbyshire District councillor for Newhall and Stanton as well as Chair of the Newhall and Midway Crime Reduction group, Vice-chair of Swadlincote Community Transport, Chair of Newhall Infant and Nursery School and on the committees of Friends of Newhall Park and the Nadins Trust.
Councillor Bambrick is also the Derbyshire County Councillor for Newhall and Seales.

Councillor Jean Mead Newhall and Stanton Ward
Profile:
I was elected to the Council in 1984 and have served on all committees since that time.
At the moment I am on the Community Scrutiny Committee, the Standards Committee and the Licensing and Appeals Committee.
As a dedicated scrutineer I am unable to serve on policy committees but I can reach my constituents in many ways by speaking out in these committees.
I have been Chair of the Council on four occasions since 1996.

I was re-elected in May 2003 to represent the people of Newhall and Stanton.
I am vice chair of the Housing and Community Services Committee and a member of the Development Control Committee, Etwall Leisure Centre Joint Management Committee and Editorial Working Panel.

Glenis Willmott MEP European Parliament
Profile:
Glenis was born in 1951 in Horden, Co.Durham.
She has an HNC in medical science, specialising in clinical chemistry (circa 1974); an HNC specialising in haematology (circa 1984). Glenis worked as a Medical scientist from 1969-1987.
She was Parliamentary Assistant to Alan Meale, MP for Mansfield 1987-1990.
From 1990-2006 Glenis worked as a trade union officer for the GMB union in the East Midlands.
Labour Party experience: Regional Board member, East Midlands Labour Party (1990-present).
Two terms as Chair of Regional Labour Party, most recently 2002-2004.
In the GMB Trade Union: political officer (1990-2006); organiser (1992-1995); senior organiser (1995-2006). Secretary, East Midlands Trade Union and Labour Party Liaison Committee (1990-2006).
