Newhall Yesterday by Tony Leech PDF Version: The first mention of Nova Aula (Newhall) appeared in 1185 with the confirmation of the church of Stapenhill and the chapels of Newhall, to Burton Abbey. By the end of the 1600-century, the chapels had disappeared. In the 13th century Robert-de-la-Ward was in possession of the manors of Stanton, Newhall and Heathcote.These estates passed by marriage to the Meynall family and in 1389 a Margaret Meynall married a Roger (also known as John) Dethick of Dethick Derbyshire and took up residence at Newhall Manor. The Dethick name disappeared from the area with the death of Humphrey Dethick in 1599. -

Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance (DLRAA), based at East Midlands Airport is a relatively new air ambulance service, taking over from County Air Ambulance on 1 April 2008. It is your local air ambulance, please support it. -

Live and Local is a network of over 170 voluntary organisations across the West and East Midlands and parts of South East England who book and promote professional performances for village halls, schools and community centres. The shows are chosen by the local community, for their local community. -
